The Story Behind Elite

Elite is a house brand of CueStix International, the family-run billiard supplier based in Lafayette, Colorado. The company has spent decades stocking pro shops, distributors and dealers nationwide, and Elite grew out of that trade experience as a line aimed at players who want honest workmanship at a fair price.

The design brief stays narrow on purpose. Rather than crowding a butt with inlay work, Elite leans on figured hardwood, layered veneer points and stained maple checkering. A cue such as the EP34 sneaky pete keeps its plain silhouette while hiding cocobolo detail that shows only when light catches the wrap.

Beyond shooters, the catalog covers the rest of the case. Rosewood jump cues, a 27-ounce heavy break stick, snooker models in the ELSNK range, replacement shafts and Vintage leather or Nexus hard cases round out the range, each item carrying a one-year warranty against defects.

Common Questions

Straight answers about shafts, weights, warranty coverage and picking a first cue from the Elite lineup.

Who makes Elite pool cues?

Elite is a house brand of CueStix International, a family-owned billiard supplier headquartered in Lafayette, Colorado. The line reaches players through authorized pro shops and online dealers.

What woods are used in Elite cues?

Common choices include Canadian hard rock maple, birdseye maple, cocobolo, bocote, zebrawood, olivewood and ash. Points and rings are usually layered veneer or stained maple rather than plastic inlay.

Which shaft diameter suits a newer player?

Most Elite shooters ship with a 12mm or 13mm shaft on a pro taper. Thirteen millimeters offers a wider hitting surface and steadier cue ball control, while 12mm rewards players already comfortable applying English.

Does Elite offer break and jump cues?

Yes. The range includes dedicated break sticks, among them a 27-ounce heavy model, a rosewood two-piece jump cue with a phenolic tip, and combination break-jump options such as the ELBJZ.

What cue weight works best?

Shooters generally land between 18 and 21 ounces, and many Elite butts accept weight bolts for adjustment. Nineteen ounces makes a sensible starting point, though breakers often prefer something heavier.

Is there a warranty on Elite products?

Every Elite cue, shaft and case carries a one-year manufacturer warranty covering craftsmanship and defects. Normal tip wear, warping caused by poor storage and accidental damage fall outside that coverage.

What Players Say

Feedback from league regulars, weekend shooters and pro shop customers who put Elite gear to work.

Bearded man outdoor portrait

The EP34 sneaky pete looks plain until light hits the veneers. Solid hit, still dead straight after a season of league play, and priced well under a custom build.

Fast shipping, and the Vintage leather case holds three butts with zero rattle. Stitching still looks new after months of hauling it to weekly tournaments downtown.

Danielle R.

That 27-ounce breaker really moves a rack. Phenolic tip and ferrule take a beating, and the wrapless maple grip never turns slick during a long night of nine-ball.
